New Teacher Highlight: Mrs. Linda Sevilla

I grew up on a farm in the middle of corn field Illinois. I got my college degrees at two universities in the middle of the cornfields too, so by the time I taught students with learning difficulties for 5 years and finished my Master Degree in Social Work, I had a strong wish to travel and see more of the world. I moved to Florida first where I worked for a Church screening foster and adoptive families and counseling teens. Next, I moved to Boston where I worked in an Alternative Junior High for students with behavioral concerns. There I met my husband who is Ecuadorian. We moved to New York City (quite the adventure for a farm girl!) and St Louis, where I worked as a social worker in Family Preservation. We had two sons in St. Louis, and my husband won a trip for two to Italy and Austria! Next, we moved to Quito, Ecuador where I had my daughter. While living in Ecuador, I taught in English at an International School, and besides hiking in many beautiful places there, I took a trip to Brazil! We lived in Ecuador for 16 years and before we left we also made a trip to India. When we moved back to the States, we returned to the cornfields and I taught in a therapeutic day school for children who had experienced trauma. Now I am in Connecticut, teaching at Pathways and planning a trip to China to see my son receive his Master Degree in Linguistics. So, I have traveled far from the cornfields of the Midwest, and each student I have known in each different kind of school has been an adventure!

Welcome to the Pathways' Family Mrs. Sevilla!!
