Summer Bridge Soars at Pathways
We had a terrific Summer Bridge program for our incoming students. Nearly 80 students attended a fantastic program created by our teaching staff. During the five-day experience, the students learned more about what it means to be a Pathways' students. They participated in team-building activities to get to know one another and the school, including a photo scavenger hunt, which gave them a head start on finding their lockers, classes, among many other places! We also ran several different bell schedules so students could learn the best way to make it from their locker to class.
Students rotated through six different lessons on communication, organization, and presentation skills, circles, self-esteem, and ePortfolio design. By Thursday, all students created their ePortfolio and presented their About Me and Relationships page to their small groups. Several students presented to their entire group in the cafeteria! Many of our new students are starting their year at Pathways with their ePortfolio already in great shape.
On the fifth and final day of the program, parents joined the students and staff for an adventurous day at Riverfront Recapture where small groups of students and parents worked on a variety of team-building skills. We ended with a luncheon where everyone got to know each other better. It was a fantastic day and program!
Thank you to the great group of student interns who volunteered to be a part of the program. We had many wonderful upperclassmen work and mentor our new freshmen!
